I cannot believe it’s been 8 weeks already! We are finally finished with our One Room Challenge project and I’m so pleased with the result. We had some amazing partners in this project. I want to give a huge SHOUT OUT to Milton & King wallpaper, Handy Paint Pail Products, Steele Canvas Basket Corp, Dakota Timber Company, Minted, and Blueprint Lighting. The Laundry Room definitely wouldn’t have turned out so well without these amazing sponsors. 🎉
We’ll take a look at the mood board and then the before shots before we get to the BIG REVEAL.
Mood Board
I wanted a raised cabinet surrounding our W/D with 2 cabinets above it and 3 shelves. I chose the paint color Pigeon (color matched with SW) by Farrow and Ball for all the cabinetry. We did beadboard half of the way up the wall and I painted it our trim color (very close to Magnolia shiplap). I chose Tropicana wallpaper from Milton & King. The artwork from Minted and the light fixture from Blueprint lighting really are like pieces of jewelry for the laundry room.
Before
When we moved in about 5 years ago, Andy made me a wood pedestal for the W/D to sit on. It didn’t have any middle support so the W/D vibrated a lot and I feared that the whole thing was going to break. We had white cabinets above the washer and dryer, but look at all the unused space above them! We had a clothesline on the other side of the room with several mismatched laundry hampers.
After
This is basically the laundry room that Andy built. He did so many projects for me and I’m so thankful for him! He reinforced the pedestal and created a surrounding cabinet for the W/D. He built the upper cabinets and doors! He built the laundry basket tower and made me a butcher block countertop. He also installed the wallpaper, the shelves, and the light. Come to think of it, what did I do? 😆😂 I did the designing and styling, and all the painting. 😉
