Are you sick and tired of being cold and seeing a bare brown landscape? Me too! I think I can only handle “winter” weather for a month. Sometimes not even that long. By the time mid-January hits, I am ready for Spring! Here in Nebraska, our winters last a long time. Sure, we’ll have some warm days sprinkled in February and March…but they are not long lived. I do enjoy the cozy neutrals for winter, but I am craving a touch of color. So, let’s get to it.
Greenery
For winter decor right after Christmas, I prefer simplicity. This year, I clipped bare branches from our yard and used them around the house. But for transitioning into spring, I want more greenery and some simple flowers. My go-to stems from Amazon are my favorite because they are so realistic looking. I also love cherry blossom stems, hydrangeas, and tulips. These are all faux, of course!
Another use of greenery is real plants. I crave real plants after winter. I went out last year and bought 4 new pothos plants. I have to admit, they are the easiest for me to keep alive. I love the look of a maiden hair fern, but I cannot keep one alive. I do have a few succulents and two snake plants, as well.
Art
Changing out art does not need to be expensive. I love affordable art from Target. I also get a lot of my art from Etsy. I typically purchase downloadable files so I can just print at home for a super quick change up. The possibilities are endless! I tend to gravitate towards more traditional or vintage looking art.
Colors
After Christmas, crave all the neutrals with pops of simple greens. For spring, I’m ready for a little more color. Pink is always my go-to (it’s also my favorite color). You can add pops of color with pillows, art, stems, throw blankets. I know some people even change out their rugs.
Scents
After Christmas, I love clean scented candles and fragrances. I have several candles in our home, but I also love the Pura home fragrance device. It’s so easy to change your home scents! When we’re heading into spring, I put away all winter correlating scents. And I bring out citrusy, clean scents…and also beachy scents. These are some of my favorites!
Conclusion
Are you excited for Spring? I cannot wait for warm weather and longer days. I hope you found some inspiration to help you transition from Winter to Spring. What is your favorite thing about Spring? Let me know in the comments. You know I love to hear from you! Until next time Treasure Hunters!
