I just love Halloween! I’ve always loved dressing up and pretending for day. It’s so fun! When we had a house in-town, I loved seeing all the kids dressed up for Halloween. I loved dressing my own kid up for Halloween. But those days are in the past. He no longer wants to dress up and we do not get any trick or treaters living in the country. So, what is the solution? Decorating my house for Halloween for all of you lovely people to enjoy (I hope). So, let’s get to it!
What is Creepy Chic?
I’d say “creepy chic” is creepy and spooky decor that’s glam. Think skulls/bones and add in some glitter, glass, silver, and brass. Hey, that rhymed. 😂 Natural elements give chic to the creepy. Think moss and dark greens. I stay away from gory decor, but I think you can make some “gory” things chic too. Halloween is all about the imagination and thinking outside the box. Let your imagination run wild and do whatever you want!
Tablescape Elements
Let’s get down to what I used. I went with a black velvet tablecloth. I think that really adds the chic factor for this table. For the center, I used cream spooky fabric. I layered 2 eucalyptus garlands with some fern pick added in. I added skulls and bones through the center. Then added brass and glass candlestick with black candles. The centerpiece is an antique silver dish with moss and a skull and bones. The last layer for the center was 3 different types of moss. I think Spanish moss really adds the creepy factor. Each place setting is my everyday dishes with gold flatware. I alternated red and purple stemware. Then to top it all off, I added a mini cloche with moss and a tiny skull. I absolutely love it!
How it Turned out
Take a look at how the whole tablescape came together and who came to visit! It’s Grace Skelly!
Conclusion
I hope you enjoyed my creepy chic Halloween tablescape. Halloween decor can be beautiful and stylish…I think keeping to a color palette and less is more is really key. Let me know what you think in the comments. I love to hear from you!
