It’s Monday, and I’m hoping to start a new series called Mood Board Monday. I’m going to be creating Mood Boards for various rooms. And probably in various styles. For my first Mood Board, I’m tackling a teen boy room. I’ve been wanting to finish our son’s room in the basement for a while now and this is pretty much the vibe that I like. I don’t really think he has a preference on style, but he does like the color blue. So, let’s get to it!
Mood Board
The obvious color inspiration was navy blue for this room. My son loves blue and really wanted his whole room painted royal blue. 😱 We originally settled on a blue gray, but now his current room is gray with pops of brown and black. I’d really love to give him a more mature room for his final years living with us. (Cue the tears). 😭
I love the minimalistic headboard with really simple bedding. I chose a plain white, almost hotel-like, duvet with navy trim. I love the pattern mix of the pillows. I added some more blue with the nightstand and dresser. We actually already have a blue dresser in his basement room, just waiting for him. It’s just too big for his current room. He would also need a desk (and realistically, it would have to be bigger than this one because of all his computers). IYKYK.
Conclusion
If you’re looking for teen boy inspiration, I hope you found it! I hope you’ll follow along for more Mood Boards. If you have a request or recommendation, just leave it in the comment section. You know I love to hear from you! Until next time Treasure Hunters!
