Can I just start off saying that I Love Christmas! This was always one of my favorite times of the year as a child and now as an adult, as well. I definitely can do without the cold and snow, but I do love all the coziness of the twinkle lights and the warm soft blankets.
In 2018, I really enjoyed decorating our home for Christmas. It was our 2nd Christmas in our new home, so I combined my Christmas collections from all our previous years together with a few new things to create a cozy Christmas vibe.
We’ve had our main Christmas tree since we move into our 2nd house in 2004. It has traveled all over, from Eagle, NE to Huntsville, AL, and back again to Nebraska. Some of the lights no longer work, but I just point those sections to the back (hee hee, just a little trick). I love to use various glass ornaments to give a vintage vibe. Then I fill in the spaces with various sizes of red balls. Twinkle lights, a crackling (faux) fire, and warm blankets are the perfect recipe for a cozy Christmas.
Christmas Village
The Christmas village was gifted to me by my mom many years ago. Over several years, she gave me different pieces….some thrifted, some new. I have held on to them all these years and I’m so glad to display them again each year.
Entryway
I collected several vintage mirrors from Facebook Marketplace and I had them propped up layered on the floor. I decided that I wanted to recreate that layered look on the wall. Handy Andy (my husband) to the rescue! He helped make my vision a reality and I’m so grateful.
Stay tuned for a tour and a post of our 2019 Christmas decor!
Love,
