Saving Peonies

Peonies

Simple steps to preserve peonies to enjoy all summer long

You'll need:

1. Glass with water

2. Pruners

3. Peonies

4. Ziplock bag

Find the peony in the "marshmallow stage" which is soft and squishy.  Cut the stem.

Here is one in the early stages of blooming, but it also has a Marshmallow bloom.  I'm taking both. 😊

I like to remove all bottom leaves.  Only the very top greens will stay.

Put the buds in a ziplock bag and place them in the fridge.  You will need to cut the stem about 0.5-1 inch when you're ready to use them.

Here are my buds in the fridge.  Do not put any water in the bags...excessive moisture can cause mold.  We'll see if this works!

Place your blooms in room temperature water and Enjoy!
